Lou Warner, co-founder and Director of Serene Freedom, brings over 25 years of experience in the health and social care sector, with a career spanning roles such as Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, General Manager and Registered Manager with CQC. Her expertise includes managing services for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), complex needs, and challenging behaviour. Qualified with a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management, she is also a domestic violence champion and a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Lou is driven by a heartfelt passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Her compassionate and hands-on approach not only ensures exceptional care for individuals but also creates an environment where her team feels supported and inspired. Lou’s visionary leadership and tireless advocacy are at the heart of Serene Freedom’s mission to provide outstanding supported living services that enrich lives and nurture independence.


Lee Abery-Neale, co-founder and Director of Serene Freedom, brings vibrant energy and an unwavering passion to her work. Fun-loving and positive by nature, Lee is deeply committed to fostering an environment where both individuals and staff thrive. She has played a pivotal role in the success of several start-ups, showcasing expertise in fostering business growth and implementing streamlined processes. With a strong background as an Office Manager and Financial Director, Lee brings a wealth of insight into running successful businesses. Her extensive experience in HR and payroll has equipped her to manage complex organisational structures, while her hands-on support of vulnerable adults highlights her dedication to empowering individuals.
Lee’s resolute belief in providing exceptional care extends to ensuring that her staff feel valued and recognised for their hard work. She is passionate about building a supportive workplace culture that nurtures growth, celebrates achievements, and prioritises the well-being of every team member. Lee’s dynamic skill set and unwavering commitment to operational excellence position her as a key force behind Serene Freedom’s mission to provide outstanding supported living services.

Nicki, Senior Support Worker at Serene Freedom, has been a cornerstone of the team since its founding, bringing with her a legacy of care, strength, and unwavering dedication that began at just 14 years of age. With an NVQ3 in Promoting Independence and rich understanding in mental health, Nicki plays a pivotal role as both Mental Health Champion and Whistleblowing Lead, fostering trust, safety, and personal empowerment across the services.
Her calm and compassionate nature has become a beacon of stability and kindness for both individuals and colleagues alike and her advocacy for building confidence and nurturing independence is reflected in her everyday work, championing goals, growth, and self-direction with heart and purpose.
Nicki’s presence is the quiet strength that is woven into the very spirit of Serene Freedom. Someone who leads not with noise, but with warmth, wisdom, and genuine care, shaping a culture where empathy thrives, goals are celebrated, and people are empowered to rise.


Mel is a lifelong caregiver and is a Support Worker, bringing with her a heart full of compassion and a career devoted to nurturing others. From babies to the elderly, Mel carries a wealth of experience shaped by years of supporting individuals with a broad spectrum of special needs and learning difficulties.
Her work is driven by a fierce advocacy for each person’s right to be seen, heard, and properly supported, reflecting a spirit that never settles for less than what someone truly deserves. This dedication is rooted in personal experience, having walked alongside her own children through challenges with mental health and special needs, giving her a lived understanding that fuels her belief in the power of support, trust, and genuine care to spark transformation.
Mel is kind-hearted, full of resilience, and motivated by the moments when someone steps into their independence and shines. She thrives on challenges and cherishes the chance to help others realise not only their potential, but to believe in it with confidence. Her approach is one of gentle encouragement, always creating space for people to become their fullest, freest selves.
In every role she’s held and now as part of Serene Freedom, Mel remains the steady force helping others see what she sees so clearly: that everyone deserves the opportunity to flourish.
Kaetlyn is a vibrant and committed Support Worker who, despite being one of the younger members of the team, arrives with a wealth of hands‑on experience. Her background in social care has already shaped a confident, capable practitioner who understands the importance of compassion, consistency, and truly seeing the person behind the support needs.
She brings an infectious energy into every environment she steps into. Fun, enthusiastic, and naturally bubbly, Kaetlyn has a gift for lifting spirits and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether she’s encouraging someone through a new skill, brightening a quiet moment with a sing‑song, or sharing stories about her beloved pet rats, she brings authenticity and joy into her work.
Now joining supported living services, Kaetlyn is passionate about empowering people to live full, meaningful lives. She values independence, choice, and dignity, and approaches support with a person‑centred mindset that celebrates individuality. Her enthusiasm is matched by a thoughtful, grounded approach to care, shaped by the experience she has already gained at such a young age.
Kaetlyn’s presence is uplifting and reassuring. She connects easily, supports wholeheartedly, and brings a sense of fun that reminds people that growth, confidence, and independence can be nurtured not only through structure and skill‑building, but also through laughter, encouragement, and the small moments that make every day brighter.

Lydia is a dedicated Support Worker within health and social care, bringing four years of heartfelt commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities and children in residential care settings. With a breadth of experience spanning emotional, behavioural, and trauma-related challenges, Lydia’s work is rooted in a deep understanding of what it means to empower others through compassion, resilience, and belief. Her organisational skills are next to none and her passion to provide the best support and experiences to our Service Users is one of her many qualities. She is also our Activity Co-ordinator.
Championing a person-centred and trauma-informed approach, Lydia ensures that every individual’s voice is not only heard but honoured, placing their hopes, feelings, and choices at the heart of every decision. Her presence is one of steady encouragement and quiet strength, offering consistent care and unwavering support that allows those she works with to move towards independence and possibility.
Lydia’s passion lies in helping people recognise their own potential and step into opportunities that once felt out of reach. Through every challenge and success, she remains a trusted guide—gently fostering confidence, celebrating progress, and walking alongside each individual as they build lives shaped by dignity, self-direction, and hope.
Danielle joins Serene Freedom as a Support Worker, bringing with her four years of experience in mental health care and a radiant blend of compassion, energy, and drive. Her passion lies in helping individuals progress in daily life, guiding them as they learn new skills, grow in confidence, and take pride in what they’ve achieved. For Danielle, the joy isn’t just in the progress, it’s in knowing she’s played a part in someone’s journey toward self-belief and independence.
Known for her bubbly and caring nature, Danielle has a gift for lifting spirits. Her fun-loving approach brings light into the room, making a real difference on difficult days. Whether through laughter or gentle encouragement, she helps people come out of their shell and rediscover their spark.
Danielle’s impact is grounded in a deep sense of purpose: supporting others not just through structure, but through heart. Her work champions possibility, resilience, and the confidence to do more than someone thought they could, and she’s right there, cheering them on every step of the way.


Hector is a deeply empathetic caregiver whose journey began in childhood. He has long been a steadfast support to family members navigating mental health challenges. This early calling shaped his commitment to care; a foundation built on patience, understanding, and a quiet strength that continues to anchor his professional path.
With four years’ experience supporting adults and children facing challenging behaviours and mental health conditions, Hector brings not just expertise, but a profound belief in each person’s capacity for growth. His work is grounded in empowering individuals to develop life skills, embrace independence, and take pride in everyday achievements. Hector is a Senior Support Worker.
A champion of healthy routines and purposeful living, Hector encourages those he supports to explore positive risks, find balance, and craft lives rich in self-worth and momentum. His guiding principle is simple yet transformative: communication is everything. With a sharp instinct for adapting his approach to suit each individual, Hector creates space for authentic expression, helping people find their voice and feel truly heard.

Elsie brings two years of care experience to the team, with an infectious enthusiasm for learning, growing, and supporting others. Originally starting in the office of a care home, Elsie quickly transitioned into a hands-on support role, where she discovered her true calling and a deep passion for working directly with individuals. Since then, she hasn’t looked back.
Inspired by her mum’s lifelong dedication to the care sector, Elsie has found her own place with pride. She thrives in team environments, believing that collaboration and a good laugh can lift spirits and open doors to learning, especially on tough days. Her outgoing and approachable nature helps Service Users feel comfortable, empowered, and ready to explore new skills.
Whether it's encouraging progress or sharing a light-hearted moment, Elsie is always present with heart and purpose. Her vibrant energy and caring approach bring warmth and positivity to every setting. For her, the joy comes from watching Service Users grow in confidence and independence, knowing she’s played a meaningful role in their journey.


Maicia joins Serene Freedom as an Apprentice Support Worker, and already brings a radiant spirit that’s made a positive impression on the team. Fresh from school, she carries a personality full of warmth, compassion, and zest for life; qualities that promise to shine brightly as she begins her journey in care.
With a heartfelt desire to make a genuine difference in people’s lives, Maicia is passionate about learning everything she can to become the very best support worker. Her eagerness to develop new skills, grow within the sector, and support others with purpose and positivity is clear to everyone she’s spent time with so far.
As she steps into her new role, Maicia brings energy and optimism that uplift those around her. Her presence signals great things to come—both for her development and the lives she’ll soon be touching with care, kindness, and connection.
Daisy begins her journey with Serene Freedom as our Apprentice Support Worker, bringing with her a quiet confidence and a deep-rooted passion for helping others live life on their own terms. Thoughtful, calm, and naturally empathetic, Daisy has already shown a genuine commitment to supporting people with dignity, independence, and joy.
She’s someone who listens deeply, notices the little things, and approaches each interaction with patience and care. Her belief in empowering others to live happily and as independently as possible is at the heart of everything she does, and it’s clear she’s ready to grow into a role where those values truly matter.
Away from work, Daisy finds peace in caring for her animals, especially her beloved cat Biscuit, who holds a special place in her world. She describes herself as an introverted extrovert, quietly observant, yet full of warmth and connection when the moment calls for it.
As she steps into her new role, Daisy brings a steady presence and a kind spirit that will no doubt enrich the lives of those around her. We’re delighted to welcome her to the team and look forward to seeing her flourish.

Maddie joins Serene Freedom as a Support Worker, bringing with her two years of experience and a clear sense of purpose: to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. For Maddie, care work is more than a profession, it’s a calling rooted in empathy, encouragement, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to live with confidence and independence.
Her journey into care began with a simple but powerful idea: that work should add value to the world. That belief has shaped her approach ever since. Maddie is someone who shows up with intention; ready to listen, ready to support, and always looking for ways to uplift those around her. She’s especially passionate about helping service users build the skills and self-belief they need to thrive on their own terms.
Outside of work, Maddie finds joy in movement and connection. Whether she’s out walking, hitting the gym, spending time with animals, or catching up with friends and family, she brings the same energy and warmth that make her such a natural fit for the Serene team.
